Om Shanti!

First of all, give yourself a certificate and a title for self-respect and for being a jewel of contentment. My natural nature is contentment. The more I think about the quality of contentment, the important quality of cheerfulness emerges. Sometimes yogis think they have to be serious. So when they sit, those who are a little light-hearted get a little nervous. Our Brahma Baba was very jovial, and very light. His face was always child-like, with a beautiful smile. With a determined thought, we should always be cheerful because your cheerfulness is service. If somebody says that you have a moonlit face, they mean that just as the moon has its own light, your face looks very cool and very enjoyable. Our silence and contentment should result in seriousness in my efforts, but not seriousness on my face. If you are making good effort you will be happy. Your face will blossom. You will be cheerful and approachable. If you are unapproachable, nobody would want to come near you. It is very important to be cheerful. Make big things small, not small into big. There is a saying,”Make a mountain into a molehill”. What we all have to do through contentment and cheerfulness is make big things small. When we would go to Dadi Janki with big problems, she would say to first make it small and manageable, then we would talk about it. Honestly, that situation usually was reduced to very little, then I dealt with it. If in my mind, I make it a mountain, can you lift a mountain? You can’t do anything with a mountain. So make it into molehill. It’s alright. Apply contentment and cheerfulness, make it like a little mustard seed. Never see anything as a very big situation, because you have to personally deal with it. Unless it’s like mountain Govardhan, then everyone comes and gives a finger. So my conclusion is:contentment is very important and with contentment your cheerfulness is also important. Virtues are very contagious in the sense your presence will bring those virtues to others and it will create vibrations. Everyone should be cheerful. Contentment you might not see, but happiness you can. So that is why Baba connected contentment with cheerfulness. We all should have good experiences. I think we all come to this conclusion that we will maintain contentment and cheerfulness. Let it be in our nature, in our thoughts, words, and in everything. You will become a messenger of peace. Whatever you will speak will be of peace. If you have contentment and cheerfulness, the quality which will come in you, is of peace. So, what do we have to do for the month of January? Don’t just take it as a separate topic. I am a content and cheerful soul and the messenger of peace, because with those two qualities, you will share peace.

Om Shanti
