Be a karma yogi #5

Om Shanti!

Do we have to do karmas? Any actions of seva while remaining in yoga or when we have good yoga. You can not sit, you would like to cooperate, you would like to help, you like to participate, your energy is that ‘I should do it more’. So we have to look at both. While doing actions, I have to be in yoga, and if you’re truly in yoga, you remain active. We saw Brahma Baba, even on the last day, he said to everyone in Madhuban that the class had to be one hour early. So, everyone said that sometimes it doesn't seem very practical that food has to be cooked, served, and wind up, but Baba wanted that. So they said, “Okay, Baba.” So one hour early dinner finished and Baba came in the class and in a way, he said goodbye. Whatever few teachings he gave were very beautiful. So, until the last minute, whatever he had to do, I always felt so inspired. Until the last evening, Baba gave Murli, gave class, came to take care of the wellbeing of children. So sometimes that is why I always suggest to be active, be accurate, be ever ready, because whatever has to happen to the body will happen, but I keep performing my karma yoga. From the very beginning, I saw so many pictures of Brahma Baba, whether they were doing any task, Baba would always sit with them. On one side, Baba was very renunciate, but on the other side, he also took a lot of interest in everything. Taking interest is the nature of a karma yogi. When fruits would come, how they should be kept, or when vegetables came. Baba always was interested, and that also was very inspiring because he should always be thinking of yoga or to take care of the Yagya, and it is from this Yagya that the whole world will be sustained. Very high quality karmas, right?

I remember when the groups went to Madhuban. The day we arrived, we would rest and settle down. We would stay for five days, then another group would come. On the 7th day, we would have to leave again. So one day we would have to cook the whole day, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Baba took a lot of interest. I used to make a few things very nice. So Baba kept very good quality rice, because we would make pulao or you make kofta, a few things I made. I used to go to Baba and we would talk about the rice. Baba took interest into what we would cook. So then one day we would make pillows. We would put cotton into the cloth and make pillows. One day we would make mattresses. One day we will go and clean all the grains because most of those who were there, the young ones, had gone on service. So all the old ones were there. So we had to go and take care of Yagya. Every day was different karma yoga. Then one day, Baba would have a picnic with us, he would sit with us and inspire us. So I feel that when there is good yoga, you cannot be lazy. You cannot be careless. It is the same when you are doing actions, you find that you are very enthusiastic and tireless and unlimited.

So, the signal we have for tomorrow is to ‘maintain a high stage and your original place’. Baba said that you are instrument souls performing actions. We have departments and duties, but when we came, we did everything, all round. Baba says that you are then being so light and performing actions with great happiness. That’s another thing; when you're doing it, not heavy, very happy. When others see you, they are greatly inspired to become karma yogis. I remember that there was actually someone from Latin America, one brother here, he is almost 90 years old. He has a wheelchair, no walker, but with a walker they have a basket. So, sometimes in the kitchen they need certain things. He would go down in the stockroom and put everything in that basket and bring it up. It was late at night. So this sister couldn't believe that somebody wants to do seva. He was Kalaben’s father. You know that he lives there. You see him with his walker. He makes almond halva, very nice, and he wants to make it for everyone. He wants to cook what they call sambhar and some south indian things.

So, it's really kind of inspiring to see that it is not a question of being young or old, but of love for Yagya and keep doing karma. If everyone is cooperative, the energy is so light too. Baba says by seeing them, you are greatly inspired to become karma yogi. In order to become a karma yogi, always keep your high stage. While doing karmas, maintain your high stage and the real place, original place, in your awareness. Come down simply to perform actions, and then Baba says that no matter how many tasks you perform, you will remain a karma yogi, that means you're not tired. A real karma yogi like we heard, double light, always happy, do it with a lot of love, everything with pure feelings and with love. Everything has its own energy, prosperity, and it’s just very amazing results. So, these signals are for karma yogi, this is the homework for tomorrow. We shouldn't just say, ok, I heard it, I know, but you have to practise. We will become the embodiment of karma yogi. So, whether I have to learn or I have to teach. I have to do or others have to do, that will be beautiful, learning and teaching and sharing. So, I think that Avyakti signals are meant to be that we become the embodiment.

Om Shanti
