Truth and Good Manners #22

Om Shanti Everyone!

It's such a big family and our unlimited Father Baba teaches us the culture of truth and good manners. We have heard of many cultures, right? That's such a beautiful topic ‘the culture of truth and good manners’. I think it is really great, very elevated. Only God can teach the truth. A few years ago in Mauritius they had a talk in a college on some of the values, very simple values like honesty and truth. So I spoke, after that the principal came, he said we had to invite you. We couldn't talk about values, because we don’t follow these values in our life. We can't stand up and speak about truth and honesty. Then I realized what is the difference between anyone talking about values, and others who are able to live it. That means nobody can stand up and talk about the truth because it's not in their life. Many times it happens, people say we would like to talk about these things, but we can't because we don’t practice in our life. Baba’s children can speak because we practice truth and good manners. Dadi Janki always used to tell us, everything can come and go, but once you lose your truth it can't come back. Some people in your life remember your mistakes, so when you speak of virtues they say that we know that this one is  not telling the truth. I like Dadi Janki's slogan, “See Baba and follow Baba.” Brahma Baba  was challenged in many aspects, but Baba remained very peaceful and calm, this is living in the truth. Many people told Baba not to talk about purity etc., Baba's answer was, “God is speaking the truth and I am just sharing the message.”  Baba was fearless in speaking the truth. We have to be yuktiyukt. If you tell people that God is not omnipresent, they might question that. If you explain nicely who is God, what's my relationship with God, that He is my Father, therefore He cannot be omnipresent. We speak the truth but the way we speak, we have to be very careful. Baba says,”Serviceable children, be seated on the heart throne, whenever a thought comes, try to feel the thought before you speak.” Ask yourself, “Am I seated on Baba’s heart throne?” God is the truth and He loves the truth. Baba says further that the Lord is pleased with the honest heart. Serviceable children would know that honesty is important, because sometimes we are so attached, whether with the center or students, whatever it is. Very subtly in the name of sustenance, we can get caught up in the name and form of someone, but we have to be very honest. So, Baba says that serviceable children who are seated on the heart throne in their relationships and connection, in every thought and word, honesty and fearlessness  will be visible. Their every thought and word will be the truth. Now we know that knowledge is truth, right? It is through our characteristics, our manners that we speak truth in this world of falsehood. When there is knowledge in practical life then there will be honesty. Honesty in other words is detachment. When you are detached, you will be honest, but if you are attached to money, relationships, and have expectations, it is hard to be honest. Remain truthful, honest, and be clean then you can glorify Baba. The children who are truthful and honest are seated on Baba’s heart throne.  Om Shanti
